in case you hadn't heard, c sold her bed! in fact, turns out it sold the night of the opening. there's a good sign!
i'm looking forward to only having to dismantle and reinstall it one more time.
coming to limn for the opening of "new moves," furniture by local designers including my insanely talented wife, courtney skott. limn is one of the top furniture showrooms in the country, where you can hardly buy a stool for less than $10k, so come on by and watch with us as the rich folks arm wrestle over who gets to buy her bed. if it's raining like today maybe we can even get them to mud wrestle. it'll rock. friday 11/17 6-8pm.
we spent most of the last two days installing the bed inside the space, and it's a beautiful gallery, with an equally beautiful courtyard out front. it'd be worth it for that even if the bed weren't going to be there.
official invite:
oh so many interesting things happening in her life that i want to share with you:
* we finally got her complete website launched this morning. which made me realize, i haven't launched an actual website outside of work since, oh, 1999? fun! check out the nifty right-aligned background pattern. also the totally hot photo on the about page. finished with the help of our talented coder pal bart solowiej.
* she started working this morning for ted boerner, a company she's been interested in for years. it's part-time for now but the possibilities are huge, and she's really excited about it, particularly the opportunity to get exposure to the high-end furniture production process.
* she and her cloud bed are going to be featured in an upcoming issue of surface magazine, in a piece on the best new furniture student work of 2006.
* and the cloud bed is also going to be showcased in an upcoming 25th anniversary show at limn in november. limn is one of the top furniture showrooms in the country, so getting into the show is a pretty big deal.
